We were thrilled to receive so many updates from adopters on how their cafe and rescue alums are an important part of their family! Your Raise the Region support helps the next ones!
What they shared is below:
Wyatt is living his best life! Nosey as ever, has to be involved in everything and sits where ever he fits! I’m so thankful for the cafe and the opportunity they gave us to adopt and spoil him!
This is Cashew, formerly known as Xander. His favorite activities include playing fetch, watching cat tv, and sunbathing. He also loves to cuddle! His favorite napping spot is usually with one of his humans or whatever cardboard box we need to get rid of.
Inkie, AKA Inker, Inker-stinker, Inkie-dinkie-doo was adopted from The Scratching Post by my partner Clay and I in August. She is the most loving and playful girl! She is either snuggled up with us or chasing her bumble bee (favorite toy) around the house! She loves daydreaming about chasing birds in her window bed and supervising when we cook. She is full of spunk and brings us so much joy every single day. We cannot imagine life without our Inkers We look forward to celebrating her 1st birthday at the end of April!
We met Virgil at the Scratching Post in September. We weren't really looking for another addition (we had three already), but we were there and he was there all chilling and lovable. We both took to him immediately and knew he would fit right in. He definitely rules the roost with boundless energy and adorableness! Our favorite things about him include: he chirps(!!) more than he meows, and when he sleeps he often will sleep on his back with all of his paws stretched as long as possible. And he plays fetch! He will bring springs and toy mice back over and over again for us to toss for him and he loves chasing them.
Houdini and Collins (formerly Pinky) are doing great. They love each other and then play fight with each other. Collins loves watching birds and squirrels from our windows. He is a little more hyper. Collins loves snuggling with us when we sleep. Houdini is laid back and very loving. He follows me everywhere. He enjoys fetching balls or QTips and growls at his brother if he comes near him when he has them in his mouth. We can’t imagine life without them and are so happy to have The Scratching Post in our community to help save cats in the area.
Mabel is always on our laps or sleeping on top of us in bed. You can literally hold a back and forth conversation with her. It’s the best thing ever. She enjoys boxes or sitting in her favorite 31 bag. You definitely know when she is carrying a toy in her mouth because she meows very loudly the whole time she is carrying it around the house! When it comes to eating we call her the Diva. She will only eat if the bowl is placed on a flat scratching pad. We are truly blessed to have her as part of our family.
Dorito is now known as Gus, Gus-Gus, Happy Tails, or Gusser Goo, and he is the sweetest, most cuddly little thing ever. He may be slightly confused about his species as he loves to give kisses and wags his tail when you come home, hence the nickname Happy Tails. He loves his big brother Goose and when they’re not snuggling, they’re wrestling or doing parkour in the hallway. Gus always keeps us laughing and we are so grateful we came in on a whim and ended up leaving with our orange baby.
Sophie’s (Soxy) lovable, curious, go with the flow, silly little personality is enough to make anyone smile. She’s the perfect adventure buddy and loves to go on car rides to grams house or soak up the sunshine in the grass. She fit right in with our other cat and is definitely the little sister (and shadow) to Lace. A toy is never far away from Sophie as she makes the house her playground and likes to bring her toys to you to join the fun!
We are so glad she’s a part of our family and love that the Scratching Post provides such a fun experience when finding your newest family member!
This is Fuzzy Wuzzy aka Partey. My kids named him . He is so perfect. He loves laying all stretched out. Once you pet him he will want you to pet him forever. He loves playing with his mouse and playing with my other cat Kyle. He really is the sweetest boy. I am so glad I stopped in and saw him. He’s been the best addition to our family.
She is the sweetest thing I’ve ever met, she constantly wants to cuddle or be on my chest. She’s loves to play. Especially when she has a toy small enough that she can carry! She bats it down the stairs then chases after it at lightning speed. She is also the only cat I’ve ever known that purrs louder than a motorcycle, anyone that has met her or heard her on the phone can attest. Over all I could not be happier with the kitty I got. She’s purrfect!
Our favorite thing about Tiny is how sweet she is. She was so swatty, and standoffish at the Café, and we were unsure of how she would be once we got her home. Once she settled in, and felt comfortable, she really came into her personality. She is the most loving cat. She sleeps on my daughter's pillow, and is obsessed with my husband. She follows him everywhere. We call her our little sous chef because if we are cooking, she is in the kitchen, trilling and trying to "help". Her favorite thing to do is lay on her back, belly up, until we give her attention lol. She has been such a wonderful addition to our family, and we can't imagine life without her.
Marbles (left) loves snuggles, window watching, annoying his brother and getting the zoomies at 2am. He does try to steal my wallet when I’m not looking and all the small kid stuffies. He is the loudest purring kitty!
Tommy (right) is a fluffy tornado of personality. He lives life with the confidence of someone who has never paid a bill and never will. He is the household menace with a heart of gold. Equal parts chaos gremlin and cuddle bug. One minute he’s committing tiny crimes like stealing food and the next he’s curled up like a sweet baby who has never done anything wrong in his entire life.
This is Luna (formerly known as Maria). She is one of three cafe alums that we have adopted! She adds so much entertainment to our house. She loves to cuddle and lick my nose in the morning when it’s time for me to get up for breakfast. She’s also very mischievous. She knows where the treat jar is and tries to help herself. She’s also a huge Churu fanatic! We are so glad to have her as part of our family along with Lydia (formerly known as Blakesly) and Leia (formerly known as Fancy Pants).
We adopted Sadio (Briar) just about a year ago. He was right at home the minute we unzipped the carrier, and we're especially happy he's also a fan of our family's favourite sport!
